Yes, I have four cats and I am a very proud, completely unapologetic cat mom. They are not just pets, they are my whole world.

Cuddelz and Pepperz came into my life during the San Francisco lockdown, and from the start they had their own little battles. Pepperz deals with skin allergies, and Cuddelz has asthma and anxiety, which means a lot of extra care, patience, and attention. When I moved to New York, my little family grew with Katniss and Floofy. Katniss also has allergies, and Floofy went through something much more serious, fighting pyothorax and spending days dependent on oxygen at AMC. That experience changed me in ways I did not expect.

Caring for them is a daily commitment. Medications, check ins, constant awareness, and sometimes worry that sits quietly in the background. But what they give me in return is something I cannot even put into words properly. Comfort on the hardest days, love that feels pure and uncomplicated, and a kind of presence that grounds me when everything else feels overwhelming.

They remind me, every single day, that there is still softness in the world. That resilience can be quiet. And that love does not need to be loud to be powerful.
